Aaron Gutierrez is a fourth-generation Puebloan. His mother’s family came to Pueblo to work in the steel mill, and his father’s family came to work in our fields. From his early days at an Eastside childcare center to graduating from Central High School, Pueblo has always been his home—and its people, his purpose.

As a young adult, Aaron was diagnosed with brain cancer. That fight transformed him into a fierce advocate for resilience, compassion, and community. It taught him firsthand the importance of access to quality healthcare, the strength of family, and the power of a community that shows up for its own.

Aaron is married to his wife Rochelle, his grounding force and partner in life, and together they are raising their son in the same community that shaped him. As an attorney, former public defender, and community leader, Aaron has dedicated his career to standing up for those who need an advocate most.

Rooted deeply in Pueblo and shaped by a lifetime of service, Aaron is running for State Senate to bring steady, people-first leadership to the Capitol. He is ready to fight for families, strengthen our economy, and ensure Pueblo’s voice is heard loud and clear in Colorado. He knows things need to be different and it is time to make change!
